Hello world!

An honest field guide to one of the most beautiful and least-known places in America — written by someone who actually lives on its shore.
The Bayfield Peninsula rewards every kind of traveler — people who want to be on the water, in the forest, at a concert under the pines, or simply sitting somewhere very quiet watching the lake do what it does.
"The Bayfield Peninsula is the kind of place where you arrive for a long weekend and start quietly looking up real estate by Sunday afternoon. The lake does that to people."
The Northwoods surrounding the Bayfield Peninsula are some of the most productive wild foraging grounds in the upper Midwest. We forage these trails personally — chanterelles, hen of the woods, chicken of the woods, lion's mane — and a close friend and local expert offers guided foraging tours for visitors of all experience levels, from complete beginners to experienced foragers who just want to learn the specific terrain.
All-summer concert series, intimate venue shows, and open-air performances against a backdrop of Lake Superior. The peninsula draws serious musical talent, and the community that shows up for it is something worth being part of.
Chanterelles in July, hen of the woods in September. We've been foraging these trails for years and this is everything we know.
Find a lakefront cabin, book a kayak or foraging tour, charter a sailboat, and plan every detail of your Bayfield Peninsula trip from here.
Foraging season alerts, concert calendars, ice cave conditions, cabin finds, and trip-planning guides — sent when it matters, not just to fill a schedule.
